Studio Policies

Attendance

♪         Missed lessons will not be refunded; however, make-up lessons will be provided in accordance with the Piano Instructor’s schedule and availability.  Please note:  Make-up lessons may be scheduled for a different day of the week than the day of the regularly scheduled lesson.

♪         If you or your child is ill or cannot attend a lesson, please call or e-mail Divine Music Studio to inform. 

Cancellation / Termination of All Lessons

♪         Please provide advanced notice of cancellation for all lessons via telephone, e-mail, or in person.

♪         If a monthly payment has already been made, tuition fees for the remaining classes of that month will be refunded only if advanced notice of cancellation is provided before the end of the paid month.

♪         Divine Music Studio may terminate lessons if any of the following situations occur:

Ø       Non-attendance persists for an unreasonable period of time (with or without notification)

Ø       Harassment of any kind

Ø       Inappropriate, disrespectful, or uncooperative behaviour

Practice

♪         Daily practice for one to two hours each day will provide noticeable progress; however, due to busy schedules and/or limitations, it is hoped that students will practice for at least 15 to 20 minutes each day.

Punctuality

♪         Late arrivals will not be refunded and may be made up only if time permits (due to a cancellation, missed lesson, or late arrival of the following student).

Recitals

♪         Recitals will be held annually

♪         Locations, dates and times – To be determined

Required Material

♪         Please bring the following items to every class:

Ø       Theory, Technique, Practical, and/or Study Books

Ø       3-ringed binder (for notes, homework, and hand-outs)

♪         Study books and binders are available for purchase at Divine Music Studio.  Parents and/or students are responsible for payment of required material for lessons, however are not obligated to purchase them from Divine Music Studio

♪         Parents and/or students are encouraged to choose required material for piano studies based on their own preference of musical styles; however, the material must be at the recommended piano level.

♪         Please note: Divine Music Studio will occasionally provide a challenging piece of music slightly above a student’s level.  If this creates difficulty or stress, please inform Divine Music Studio immediately.  The piece will then either be taught at a slower pace, discontinued, or until the student feels comfortable.
